Terms of Service

Welcome to Dermi. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Dermi ("Dermi," "we," "us") that governs your use of the Dermi app. By creating an account or using Dermi, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Who can use Dermi

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your region) to use Dermi. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

What Dermi does

Dermi lets you scan or search food products, view an ingredient-based estimate of how they might affect your skin (your "Dermi Score"), and track your own patterns over time. Dermi is an informational and educational tool — nothing more.

Not medical advice

Dermi provides estimates based on ingredient science, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Dermi Scores are general guidance and may be wrong for you. Dermi is not a substitute for a dermatologist, allergist, physician, or dietitian. Always seek professional advice for skin conditions, health concerns, or dietary decisions, and never disregard or delay professional advice because of something in the app.

Product data

Product and ingredient information in Dermi comes from Open Food Facts, a community-maintained database. That data may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, and we don't control or guarantee it. Dermi Scores are only as reliable as the underlying data.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up, and let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You may use Sign in with Apple or an email and password to sign in.

Your content

You keep ownership of the information you add to Dermi — your profile, preferences, scan history, and logged outcomes. You grant us the limited permission needed to store and process this information so we can provide the app to you. We handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

When using Dermi, you agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
• Access the app through automated means, or scrape, overload, or disrupt it.
• Reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems.
• Use another person's account or misrepresent who you are.

Intellectual property

Dermi and its content — including the app, its design, and its scoring logic — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

Termination

You can stop using Dermi at any time and delete your account and data from Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect Dermi and its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as disclaimers and limitations of liability — will continue to apply.

Disclaimer of warranties

Dermi is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates will meet your needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dermi and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or reliance on — the app or its estimates. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes

We may update the app or these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and notify you in the app of material changes. Continuing to use Dermi after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
